April Wrap-Up and May TBR 2019

One-third of the way through 2019 and I’m finally on track for my reading goal of 60 books for the year. April was a good reading month – the best I’ve had so far this year! I hope May will be even better!

I read 7 books in April and all of them were pretty good! Finally finished the 7th one right on the last morning of the month.

  • This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
    Find my review here.

  • Enchantée by Gita Trelease – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
    Find my review here.

  • The Atlas of Reds And Blues by Devi S. Laskar – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
    Find my review here.

  • Evidence of the Affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I listened to the audiobook in under an hour and it made me feel a lot in so little time!

  • The Hating Game by Sally Thorne – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My best read this month – it was funny and sweet and steamy all at once!

  • Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This took a while for me to get through but I liked it!

  • Stargazing For Beginners by Jenny McLachlan – ⭐⭐⭐⭐.25
    A very quick, sweet read!

It was so not easy to pick my TBR for May! The prompt for this month’s Devour Your TBR was Moody May so I was open to picking up whatever I wanted. And I want to read SO many books all at the same time!

So, I have a couple of books to review from publishers and I decided to finally pick up some books that I’ve been putting off for a long, long time!

  • Magical Women, a Fantasy short story anthology edited by Sukanya Venkatraghavan 🌏
  • Muhammad Bin Tughlaq: Tale of a Tyrant by Anuja Chandramouli 🌏
  • Leah On The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli
  • Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell
  • Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare
  • Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab
  • The Star-Touched Queen by Roshani Chokshi 🌏
  • The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

I’ve tagged the books with the 🌏 emoji if they fit the Year of the Asian Reading Challenge.

Priory is damn intimidating – just look at the size! – but I’d be happy if I can get a few 100 pages into it as long I finish the rest of the books at least. 😉

How many books did you read in April and which one was your favorite? Which book are you most looking forward to reading in May? Talk to me in the comments below!

  1. yay for good reading months! wow, look at all those 4+ star reviews – that’s so awesome! I adore Fangirl; Leah is fun and Clockwork Princess tore out my heart in the best way; I’ve been putting off Priory because it’s so infamously thicc 😅 happy reading!

in April I was procrastireading a lot of ARCs instead of studying, haha. but I really liked Emergency Contact, The Bride Test, and Finale (Caraval)!

  2. I finally got Enchantee and I can’t wait to read it, and I hope you enjoy Priory, it just looks great! All the books on your tbr look great actually, and I hope to add some books to my tbr after I read your reviews of them!

  3. ohh nice TBR! Priory is on my TBR for May too… I plan to start it around the 20th since that’s when my summer break begins and well, I am just hoping to finish 1/3 of it but even that seems kind of impossible!
    Happy Reading! xx
