What’s In My Cart Today Tag | Original Tag

Do you ever browse books, merch or other bookish items and add stuff to the cart but don’t end up ordering it at that very moment for whatever reason?

I do this all the time. I love “online window-shopping” for books and waiting for prices to drop or adding the most immediate items from my wishlist to my cart so I know what I really want to spend on when my wallet is feeling full and generous. 😉

I browse and shop from lots of websites but the one I use most often is Amazon. So today, I thought I’d share with you which books I have in my cart – what I’m hoping to order soon or still trying to make my mind up about. Hopefully, you’ll find some books to check out or if you’ve read them already, maybe you can help make my mind up about whether to buy them or not.

This is what my Amazon cart looks like at the moment:

The Binding: The hardcover is simply stunning and I’ve heard good things about it but I’m hoping for the price to drop.

The Forest of Enchantments: Another gorgeous hardcover with and without the dust jacket that I’m resisting buying until I read another book by this author that I already own (The Palace of Illusions).

Old Soul Love: I recently rediscovered Christopher’s poetry after several years and I’m so excited about this collection of his poems. It’s just a bit too out of my budget at the moment.

Vicious: I still haven’t read a single book by VE Schwab and even though I own a couple other books by her, I really want to read this one first.

Black Leopard, Red Wolf: One of my most anticipated new releases of this year but I’m waiting for the price to drop – or I’ll just cave and order it closer to the release.

The Beauty of the Moment: I have the author’s debut novel (A Girl Like That) on my TBR for this year but the premise of this one is really calling to me!

On The Come Up: I read and loved Angie Thomas’s debut novel (The Hate U Give) last year and I cannot wait to get and read this one! Probably going to be ordering this one ASAP.

Seeing all of these books in my cart and not clicking that “Proceed to Buy” button is a real exercise in control for me. But it motivates me to manage my monthly budget well and ensures I only buy a book I really, really want and not on an impulse (I’ve made impulse buys before and regretted the decision most of the times). It also makes me read books I already own but keep putting off, if only so I can get the next book by the author and not feel guilty about my ever-growing TBR.

I would love to see your cart full of books too so if you’re reading this, I invite you to do the What’s In My Cart Today tag as well. It could be any online bookstore that you like. To get the ball rolling, I’m tagging some wonderful bloggers here (whose blogs you should definitely check out and follow) to show me which books are waiting to be ordered in their carts:

Nandini @ Unputdownable Books
Sahi @ My World of Books
Charvi @ Not Just Fiction
Gayathri @ Elgee Writes
Shalini @ Book Rambler
Isabelle @ Bookwyrm Bites

What did you think of this post? Have you read or want to read any of the books mentioned above? Which one should I definitely buy ASAP? Let’s chat in the comments below!

  1. I’ve found that VE Schwab’s books are hit-or-miss for me, but I adore Villains (and ADSOM), and it does seem to be among the most highly regarded among her works! and I’m still waiting on my library hold of On the Come Up, but I’ve heard only good things about it.

thank you for the tag! this is such an interesting idea – I actually don’t have any books in my cart at the moment, but I do have a decently long Amazon wishlist with books, so I’ll use that 😉

  2. This is such a great idea as well as a post! I have already ordered The Binding, Black Leopard Red Wolf. I also have The Forest of Enchantments which I am hoping to read soon along with Vicious which I read last year.
I am definitely doing this soon!

  3. Ah, these are a lot of books! Though it is not as if mine is too small either.
I usually wait till a discount comes up to buy in bulk while I keep hoarding everything in my cart till then, but well, that’s just me.
