February Wrap-Up & March TBR 2019

Let’s talk wrap-ups and TBRs. I like setting a TBR each month though I’m a moody reader. It works because I take it more as a guideline and don’t stress out about it (much) if I don’t get to all the books or pick up others instead.

I read exactly half of the books from my February TBR and one that wasn’t on it.

I only read 4 books in February though I’d hoped to read a lot more.

  • The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A charming and heartbreaking story of a girl who is about to be deported, a guy who is suddenly the sole focus of his parents’ attention and expectations and how anything can happen in 24 hours.
    Find my review here.
  • The Thief (Queen’s Thief #1) by Megan Whalen Turner – ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Gen, a thief who claims he can steal anything has been in prison for way too long when the King’s Magus recruits him to steal something.
    Find my review here.
  • Six of Crows (Six of Crows #1) by Leigh Bardugo – ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
A crew of six outcasts/misfits/criminals is hired to pull off an impossible heist.
    Find my review here.
  • Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo – ⭐⭐⭐⭐.75
The crew managed to pull off the heist but not everyone came out of it safe and whole. Now they must work together to get their due and make things right.
The review will be up shortly (hopefully).

I had a hard time deciding what books to put on my March TBR as I had to take a lot of things into consideration: I’m participating in the #femmemarchfest which is a monthlong readathon organized by Aritri @ The Liquid Sunset so I’ve kept the TBR limited to female authors only. I also need to read some books by Asian authors for the #YARC2019 since I failed to make any progress in that challenge last month. Also, need some books that’ll fit the Devour Your TBR prompt for this month i.e. “Monstrous March” so thriller/spooky/horror/mystery/monstrous/huge books.

After a LOT of thinking and more thinking, here’s my overambitious TBR (considering I’ve only managed to read 4 books a month so far this year).

  • The Flower Girls by Alice Clark-Platts 👧📚
  • King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo 👧📚
  • Loyalty in Death by JD Robb 👧📚
  • Divine Evil by Nora Roberts 👧📚
  • The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang 👧🌏
  • PS I Still Love You by Jenny Han 👧🌏
  • Fierce Fairytales by Nikita Gill 👧🌏
  • The Beauty of the Moment by Tanaz Bhathena 👧🌏

I’ve tagged the books with the following emojis if they fit a particular challenge. (Saw this idea over at Destiny @ Howling Libraries some time back, do check out her blog!)
👧 – #FemmeMarchFest
📚 – Devour Your TBR Challenge – Monstrous March
🌏 – Year of the Asian Reading Challenge

I’d be happy if I can even read 5 or 6 of these books. And I’m already on the second chapter of King of Scars.

Have you read any of the books mentioned above? How many books did you read last month and which one was your favorite? Which book are you most looking forward to reading in March? Talk to me in the comments below!

  1. I loved The Sun Is Also A Star so much. I’m pretty sure I read it in one sitting. Took me four hours. I’ve never finished a book that fast but I adored the story. I’ve not read any of the others but I’m glad you enjoyed them! Great post 🙂

  2. Damn I’m wishing you all the luck for crushing the readathons/challenges and making some progress! I’ve read the SoC duology and adore it with every fibre in my being. I’ve been wanting to read The Kiss Quotient since I saw it over on Merv’s blog. PS I Still Love You is also another one I ADORE though I need to reread the first two so I can finish the series haha. Hope you have a great March!
